Funerals & Celebrations of Life
Commemorating the life of a loved one is an opportunity to reflect, laugh, cry, share and even celebrate. It is never easy, I know. My own desire to become a celebrant was driven very much by my own experiences at family memorials and funerals. Despite the difficult times surrounding the end of a loved one’s life, there can be so much to honour and a great opportunity to be closer to others.
Arranging a memorial or funeral can feel like an overwhelming experience, but as a celebrant I am here to help you through the experience. We will have a friendly, relaxed meeting with time for you to share stories and to talk about how we will arrange the service. As well as writing the eulogy, I can help with music choices, tributes, and arrangements specific to your day.
What's involved? Looking for a celebrant for a funeral ceremony?
Let's chat
First you need to know if you like me so we will start with a phone or video call to meet one another.
Location
a traditional funeral location may be your choice, but a memorial for your loved one can be held wherever you choose and where they would have loved.
Environmentally friendly
eco-minded choices are becoming increasingly important to many and the options are constantly growing. From green woodland burials to sustainable funerals and ash scatterings, there are many special ways to celebrate a life. This is a choice especially meaningful to me, so if you have questions please let me know.
Confirm
If you’ve decided to move forward with me, I’ll send you my booking form and make sure the date is saved exclusively for you.
Capturing the spirit of your loved one
We’ll have a meeting (in person or via video) and talk in detail about your loved one and how they will be remembered.
Writing time
With your input, I will write your eulogy and ceremony. You’ll have time to review it and make any edits. If you’d like, I can suggest special readings, poems and music. We will have plenty of phone and email contact along the way.
On the day
I will arrive plenty early (about half an hour) and make sure everything is in order.
Cost
Privately arranged ceremonies are £230 and include all of the above and unlimited contact and ceremony support. If you have been referred by a funeral director, celebrant fees will be included.
I’ve been through a dark period since the passing of my wife, but your enthusiasm, cheerfulness & the sparkle in your voice was better than any tonic.
